Accelerated Technology Announces First Integrated Product Since Company's Acquisition, XRAY Software Developer's Kit
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2002--Accelerated Technology®,
the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics Corporation
(Nasdaq:MENT), today announced the official release of the XRAY(TM)
Software Developer's Kit, the result of a successful merging of
products and technologies from Accelerated Technology (AT) and the
Mentor Graphics Embedded Systems Division.
Since the acquisition by Mentor Graphics earlier this year, AT has
incorporated Mentor products into their existing roadmap for the
purpose of unifying the desktop and CPU. The XRAY Software Developer's
Kit (SDK), the first step towards this goal, integrates the XRAY
Debugger and Microtec compilers into AT's code|lab EDE, the embedded
development environment based on Microsoft Visual Studio.NET. This
integration allows developers to use industry-standard embedded tools
and debug technology from within a very familiar project management
environment. The result is a comprehensive kit that lets users reduce
costs and development time.
In code|lab EDE, pre-built groupings of source code and object
files enable the Nucleus(TM) RTOS and any additional components (e.g.
Nucleus NET, Nucleus FILE, etc.) to be compiled and linked with the
application code without further configuration. XRAY then has full
Nucleus-awareness to make debugging the application straightforward.
XRAY takes advantage of code|lab EDE's ability to launch the debugger,
load code and set breakpoints. The compilers and build tools are fully
controlled by the user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). The
environment is available for UNIX platforms and offers a very
consistent user interface over different processors, target
connections and host platforms. Developers can also access an
evaluation version of the Nucleus PLUS real-time kernel included in
the kit. With the combined technologies, developers have a complete
software kit in which to design and debug their embedded applications
from start to finish.
"The merged organization and products have been built on the
strengths of each company to provide a truly integrated solution,"
said Robert Day, director of marketing for the Embedded Systems
Division of Mentor Graphics. "The combination of the Nucleus RTOS and
XRAY debugger, all encompassed in the code|lab EDE environment, offers
a solution that accelerates the software development process."
Availability and Pricing
Available from Accelerated Technology, prices for the XRAY
Software Developer's Kit start at $5,995.00 each. For more
information, please contact the company at 800/468-6853.
